Privacy Policy

Is This AI ("the app") is a mobile application by HDFoundry that detects AI-generated content (images, text, and audio) entirely on your device using bundled machine learning models. This Privacy Policy explains how the app handles information.

The short version

Is This AI processes everything on your device. We do not collect, transmit, or store your data on external servers. There are no analytics and no third-party tracking SDKs.

Data we do not collect

We do not collect:

  • Images, text, or audio files you scan
  • Scan results or detection history
  • Personal information such as name, email, or location
  • Device identifiers or advertising IDs
  • Usage analytics or behavioral data

All inference is performed locally on your device using bundled ML models. No content leaves your phone during detection.

Data stored on your device

The app stores the following data only on your device:

  • Scan history: scan type, result, confidence score, and timestamp, stored in a local database. File contents are never stored.
  • App settings: dark mode, notification, and sound preferences.
  • Onboarding status: whether you have completed the onboarding flow.

You can clear this data at any time by uninstalling the app.

Permissions

  • Photo Library (iOS): required to let you pick images for detection. We do not access your library without your explicit action.
  • Read media (Android): required to pick image and audio files. Only the file you select is accessed.
  • Notifications: optional, disabled by default. Used to deliver scan-complete notifications when the app is in the background.

We do not request microphone access. Audio detection is performed on pre-recorded files you choose; live recording is not supported.

Third-party services

The app does not integrate third-party analytics, advertising SDKs, or tracking frameworks. No data is shared with any third party.

Data retention and your rights

Since the app stores nothing on our servers, you control all data directly on your device. Clear scan history in the app, or uninstall the app to remove everything. Depending on your location, you may have rights to access or delete personal data; because we hold none, these are exercised on-device.

Children's privacy

The app is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us and we will address it promptly.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes are reflected by an updated date above. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the new policy.
