Privacy Policy

Sleep Sounds is a meditation, sleep, and relaxation app built by HDFoundry. This Privacy Policy explains how the app handles your information.

The short version

Your session history and preferences are stored on your device. We do not sell personal data and advertising, if enabled, is limited and disclosed below. We use crash reporting to keep the app stable.

Data stored on your device

The following data is stored on your device:

  • Session history and mindful minutes
  • Streaks and progress
  • Favorites and the personalized daily pick
  • App settings such as theme, audio, and notification preferences

Crash reporting and analytics

On production builds, Sleep Sounds uses Firebase Crashlytics (Google LLC) to collect anonymized crash reports so we can diagnose and fix problems. This includes the type and location of the crash, device model, OS version, app version, and a randomly generated installation identifier that is not linked to your identity. We may also collect aggregated, anonymous usage statistics (such as which features are used) to improve the app. None of this is used for advertising.

Permissions

  • Notifications: optional, used for session reminders you choose to enable
  • Audio playback: used to play sessions and soundscapes, including in the background
  • Internet: used to load audio content and configuration

Third-party services

Advertising

To keep Sleep Sounds free, future versions may show ads served by third-party advertising partners, such as AppLovin. When ads are enabled, these partners may collect and process limited device information, including a resettable advertising identifier, coarse location derived from your IP address, and ad interaction events, to select and measure ads. Ads are not shown during active sleep or meditation playback. You can limit ad tracking and reset your advertising identifier in your device settings (iOS: Settings, Privacy, Tracking and Apple Advertising; Android: Settings, Google, Ads). We do not share your session history or any content you create with advertising partners.

Data sharing

We do not sell your personal data. We may share limited data with service providers, such as Firebase, solely to operate the app.

Data retention and your rights

Data stored on your device remains until you clear the app's data or uninstall it. Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, delete, or restrict processing of personal data. For any request related to Firebase data, contact us and we will assist in submitting the appropriate request to Google.

Children's privacy

Sleep Sounds is not directed to children under 13 (or the applicable age of digital consent in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us and we will address it promptly.

Security

We use reasonable measures to protect data, including HTTPS for network communication and encrypted local storage where supported by the platform. However, no method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Significant changes are reflected by an updated date above. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
