By downloading or using ArchFic, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please uninstall the app. ArchFic is built and operated by HDFoundry.

Disclaimer

ArchFic is an independent, fan-made application. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to Archive of Our Own (AO3) or the Organization for Transformative Works (OTW). All trademarks belong to their respective owners.

AO3 content

All fanfiction content displayed in ArchFic is sourced from Archive of Our Own (ao3.org). ArchFic works like a browser: it loads AO3 pages directly to your device and does not store, host, or redistribute fanworks, and it never charges for access to AO3 content. When you connect your AO3 account, you sign in on AO3's own website: ArchFic does not receive or store your AO3 password. You must comply with AO3's Terms of Service when accessing content through this app, including:

  • Respecting content ratings and author-set restrictions
  • Not automating bulk downloads or scraping at scale
  • Respecting author requests regarding their works

Acceptable use

You may use ArchFic only for personal, non-commercial reading. You may not:

  • Systematically download or redistribute AO3 content
  • Circumvent security measures beyond what is needed for normal reading
  • Reverse-engineer, modify, or redistribute the app
  • Use the app for any unlawful purpose

Accounts and your data

ArchFic works without an account. Signing in is optional and simply lets your own data (your library and collections, the works and authors you follow, your reading progress, and your settings) back up and sync across your devices, and lets us notify you when a work you follow updates. We store only this metadata, never AO3 fanwork content, and we never sell your data. You can delete your account data at any time from Settings or by contacting us. Age requirement

You must be of legal age in your jurisdiction to access content rated Mature or Explicit. By enabling adult content in Settings, you confirm you meet this requirement.

No warranty

ArchFic is provided as is without warranty of any kind, express or implied. We make no guarantees about uptime, data accuracy, or continued compatibility with AO3. AO3 may change its structure at any time, which may temporarily break app functionality.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, HDFoundry and its developers shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the app.

Governing law

These terms are governed by applicable law, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes shall be resolved in a court of competent jurisdiction.

Changes

We may update these terms at any time. The latest version is always available in the app under Settings, then Terms of Service and on this page. Continued use of the app constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
